The Aero Club was formally established on September 21, 2022, by a group of academics, key members of the PMIST Aerospace Engineering branch, and students from various departments. This Club was founded with the goal of raising awareness among the students about drones, aeromodelling, satellites, space exploration, and other Aerospace - related subjects.
To obtain knowledge in theory and practice for creating flying models, drones, satellites, and others related to aviation & astronautics industry. Interaction with peers, scientists, entrepreneurs, academicians, researchers, and aviation industry specialists will be facilitated. In support of it’s training initiatives, the club regularly arranges seminars, workshops, competitions and industry visits to aerospace firms.

A hands-on workshop on “Making of Paper Plane Models” was conducted on the same day by Aero Club and Department of Aerospace Engineering, PMIST.

The Aero Club organized Silambam training and English Language for Communication to Govt. School Students (Primary Level), Pillaiyarpatti, Thanjavur.

This visit is mainly focused to celebrate the National Space Day and to encourage the students to enhance their skills and knowledge related to space research.
Three students from second year Aerospace Engineering (Mukesh Muthuram, Balasri and Samsuluga) participated in Space Expo at Bangalore on 20.9.2024 /Friday, and they learnt about satellite systems, defense & space technology, space systems and others.
